Note: The Passenger Handlebars are designed to be mounted on the seat post. If the rider places their seat post at the lowest position, with no room to mount the handlebars, the handlebars may be difficult to access or install.

• It is always the user’s responsibility to ensure the passenger and/or cargo loaded on the Lectric XP or XP Step-Thru 3.0 do not interfere or impact the user’s ability to safely operate the Lectric XP or XP Step-Thru 3.0.
• Please use caution when using the Buddy Seat, as feet can get caught in the wheel spokes while riding, resulting in serious injury or death.

**A child incapable of riding a bike on their own should not ride as a passenger. Use your best judgment as a parent or guardian to keep a child and the rider safe.

Buddy Seat Installation

Buddy Seat Installation

With the Lectric eBikes Buddy Seat, you can keep your children nearby for all of your riding adventures!

 

The Lectric Buddy Seat has three components:

• The Passenger Handlebars
• The Passenger Seat
• (2) Foot Pegs.

Each piece should be properly installed on the bike before riding with a passenger. See written directions below or click here to watch on the Lectric Service Center:

 

Passenger Seat:

1. Flip the passenger seat to expose the backside
2. Unscrew the threaded knobs by turning them counter clockwise till they are completely removed
3. Next, remove both clamp plates
4. Place the passenger seat upright on the integrated Rear Rack, making sure the screws sit within the Yepp windows on the rack
5. Take each plate and place them under the Rear Rack Yepp Windows and through the screw
6. Screw the threaded knobs onto the mounts by turning them clockwise until tight
7. Perform a pull test to ensure it is mounted properly before riding.

 

Foot Pegs:

1. Begin by using a 17mm wrench to remove one axle nut off the rear wheel axle.
   1. Be sure to keep the bike upright so the wheel stays in the dropout when the axle nut is removed
   2. Also, be sure to place the removed axle nut in a safe place for reinstallation later
2. Next, Place the foot peg on the axle and begin to screw them onto the axle by turning them clockwise until tight
3. Repeat this process on the other side of the wheel.

 

Passenger Handlebar:

Note: The passenger handlebars are designed to be mounted on the seat post. If the rider places their seat post at the lowest position, with no room to mount the handlebars, the handlebars may be difficult to access or install.

1. First, use a 5 mm Allen key to remove the bolts from the clamp.
2. Next place both sides of the handlebar clamp around the seat post
3. Then place the bolts through the clamp
4. Tighten both bolts until the clamp is completely secure.

 

Note: It is always the user’s responsibility to ensure the passenger and/or cargo loaded on the Lectric XP or XP Step-Thru 3.0 do not interfere or impact the user’s ability to safely operate the Lectric XP or XP Step-Thru 3.0.
