Small Pet Carrier Instructions

Setting up the Small Pet Carrier:

1. Unpack the box and locate the Pet Carrier Top and the Pet Carrier Base.
2. There is a zipper on the Carrier Base and a zipper insertion point on the Carrier Top. Align the zipper ends and connect the two pieces by zipping all the way around.
3. Fold the extra fabric over the zipper to protect it from damage.
4. Next, unzip the top opening of the carrier for better visibility. Then, locate the velcro housings on the inside of the carrier at the top, in both the front and back.
5. Open one velcro housing, then lift and place the top of the frame support bar in the middle of the housing and close the velcro securely over the bar. Repeat on the opposite side to complete the structure. Notice: The velcro housing may be a little difficult to pull apart at first.
6. Lastly, make sure the base mat of the carrier is in place with the leashes accessible.

 

Installing the Small Pet Carrier to the Large Basket:

The Small Pet Carrier can be installed on either iteration of Lectric’s Large Basket, whether it is the shorter version or the taller version.

Tip: For some bike models, like the XP Trike, it may help to remove the seat & seat post from the seat tube before installing the carrier.

1. Begin by undoing all four securing straps located on the sides of the carrier.
2. Next, place the Small Pet Carrier in the Large Basket with the pet window and Lectric logo facing the back of the bike. Be sure that all straps are inside the basket when placing the carrier.
3. Take each strap and feed it through the bottom window of the basket so it exits to the outside. Then, wrap the strap around the top rail of the basket and feed it through the plastic clasp. Pull the strap tight and press it onto itself to lock it in place securely.
4. Follow the same steps for the remaining three straps to ensure the carrier is fully secured.
5. Perform a light pull test to ensure the carrier is secure to the Large Rear Basket.

 

Riding with the Small Pet Carrier:

1. There are two openings at the top of the carrier, one narrow opening and one wider opening. Depending on the size of your pet or your preference, unzip the opening of your choice.
2. Place your pet inside the carrier through the top opening. Be sure to not exceed the 20 lb payload capacity.
3. Always attach the leash tethers to your pet when using the Small Pet Carrier. This will keep your pet secure on bumpy rides or sudden stops.
4. Closing the top of the carrier is optional to the user. If you prefer for the top of the carrier to remain open, you can roll the lid up and secure it with the elastic loop on the inside of the carrier; simply wrap the band around the lid and push the tab through the loop.
5. Finally, be sure to ride at a comfortable speed and start slow. The Small Pet Carrier may affect the handling of the eBike.
